planes trains and automobiles

We recently purchased a car hoping to seeing more of the UK, and some close by EU countries as well. Traveling to France was fairly easy on the way in, by way of car-ferry-car. We drove to Paris and then to the Alps and had the trip of a life time. However, the way home proved to be more difficult. Thanks to a broken down car, we had to leave France by train. Out of Switzerland. Which is difficult to do on the last day of a UK holiday. Everything was booked. And I mean everything. We did manage to make it home, but we still have a broken car stuck in France. (any Frenchies want to buy a Land Rover?)
